Tuesday’s Child’s Pub Quiz Challenge in Magherafelt

EVENT TUESDAY’S CHILD CHARITY PUB QUIZ

VENUE THE TERRACE HOTEL, MAGHERAFELT

TIME 8.30 p.m.

The Northern Ireland charity “Tuesday’s Child” invites you to a Pub Quiz in The Terrace Hotel in Magherafelt on Friday 15th April, to raise funds for children living in extreme hardship.

Teams are 4 – 6 people and should be registered before the quiz starts at 8.30 p.m. Folks who are keen to go but don’t have a full team can join one of our singles teams on the night.

The quiz master for the evening is Jarleth McKenna and there is music after the quiz.
To further boost the funds for deprived children there are some fabulous raffle prizes kindly donated by businesses from Magherafelt as well as an auction. There will be music after the quiz from 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, so something for everyone. There are prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams and 1st prize is £100, kindly donated by a friend of Tuesday’s Child from Swatragh.

Businesses across Magherafelt and further afield have been incredibly generous and supportive of the fundraiser.

“We have some wonderful prizes donated by shops and businesses in Magherafelt and have been overwhelmed by their generosity”, said Orla Sheehan of Tuesday’s Child.

“We are really looking forward to the event and hope to raise lots of money to help war-torn children”.

Many people across South Derry kindly donated to the charity’s airlift appeal for babies and children affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan last year. Proceeds of the quiz night will go towards helping war-torn children in the Middle East.

Tuesday’s Child is also asking people to support their Change for Children appeal and bring their loose change along on the night. The charity gives 100 percent of monies donated to helping children.

Tickets for the Pub Quiz are £5 and available online from the charity website at www.tuesdayschild.org.uk (store link) or you can pay on the door.

Country Spotlight: Democratic Republic of Congo... The recent civil war in eastern DRC has devastated many aspects of life and children are among those most affected. A population size equivalent to that of Ireland, north and south, died either through direct conflict or displacement. Mulongo is a school catering for about 2000 children. The school is one of many decimated during the war. It needs rebuilt and basic school supplies and a playground facility with better salaries to retain underpaid teachers. The Active Christian Evangelism (ACE) Group, lead by Dr Graham Fry, is funding the project; more funds are needed.
